Just unloading a few questions for which I couldn't find conclusive answers:
-I notice that the Metal King Armour doesn't offer any elemental resistances in this game. Would I be better off equipping my monsters with Flame Armour instead?
-Do these items serve any purpose? Is there a reward or recognition granted for collecting them all?
-Has anyone made/found a list of items that can be sold but never obtained again, e.g. the Diamond Akillics?

Don't know as far as the collectibles, but regarding the Metal King Armor, it depends.
Many of the monsters have natural resistance to certain elements, so depending on what they resist, the bonus from the flame armor may or may not be worth the trade off of the MKA's defense

I think that the exotica items are just another part of the game, the questing part, where you search for these items, etc. Trade, etc.
And yeah, Metal King Armor Set is pretty awesome, IMHO.
