iirc all the kings had the same sprite in the original; just colored differently.

Nnnnnope. Check this out. Ol' mummy chops strolls in around the 19:30 mark.

As for what monsters I'd like to see, I think a lot of my wishes have already been granted :P Uberkilling machine and protomech should all be coming over from Pro, and dragon machine has been featured in artwork and dark crystal has appeared in screens. I suppose what I'd enjoy seeing is that 3rd killing machine that's from the arcade game and its Wii port. That, and I've said this before in this topic, I'd like to see the other illusions from Caravan Heart make an appearance, not just Magarugi's monstrous form (heck, having her original form and Gisuwaru / Gisvarg as options would also be nice).

Nice find. They were too subtle for me to notice back in the day I guess.
xD

Agreed about monsters. The game already has all the main ones I was hoping for, and at this point anything else is just icing on the cake.
So with that said, I'm hoping for these guys. But if they're not in then nbd:

I'm not holding my breath for any of the DWM2 monsters though. I think they're holding off on them just so they have some monsters for a possible next DQM game (which even then would need to wait for some more main series games to come out, because at this rate this game will leave >100 monsters left not counting recolors).

Agreed about Terry not being recruitable, just like it was in the original.

And about connectivity. think this game will keep pro's transfer system?

EDIT:
Site updated. New dungeon details and screenshots:
http://www.dragonque...ungeon.php#main

More wifi screenshots and details (I'm sure they'll be translated later on today):
http://www.dragonque...anking.php#main

And something else (new abilities I think):
http://www.dragonque...system.php#main

Older Terry looks awesome, as do the different maps.

EDIT2:
Found a general translation...
http://translate.goo...cial&prmd=imvns

-Combination attacks
- Tournaments are back, along with prizes for winning and participating (Derp. Looks like we can expect some exclusive monsters again)
-Looks like gates turn blue after some point. Guess it turns out I was right about that.
-Using the same ability the same turn an opponent does nullifies them both (?)
-Monster Houses (exactly the same as in the Pokemon Mystery Dungeon games)

Crud, I forgot to mention that bamboo robot from X in my last post. I'd also like to see that guy in this game :P

And it looks like future Terry isn't going to be doing anything to mask his identity. Sort of a shame. I mean, he's still cool looking and all, but I kinda like how he looked in the original when you fought him. All assassiny. Also looks like biguana's gonna be a size 2, and there's going to be a size 3 muddy hand that looks like it's made of poopoo. Hooray!!

And finally, a screen with coatol! Definitely looks size 2, and with an original model at that. Great to finally see it.

... and I just noticed on this page that there's a warhog / thwarthog / Slon that's +39. Yikes.

Forgot to mention, looks like Excallipurr is in:

Edit: nvm, can't link to pictures from there.
It's the one with Dreadmaster though

I sorta like the strange size decisions so far. Namely Biguana and Snapper, can't say I was expecting either of them being large. lol @ size-three rank D Sluggernaut.

You mean the red one in the Wi-Fi section ?
I'm pretty sure that it's WingSnake. You can see a blue coatol in the trailer.
Now that I think of it, it seems that they switched their color pattern.
I wonder if they will use the same animation, given how similar they are...

I would like Adult Terry to be obtainable, even if it's not ingame...

Also, is it me or is Terry smaller than the hero from the Joker game ? That bugs me for a while...

I'm now a great Slime fan, but when I started DWM I didnt' know anything about them.
Terry's Wonderland and DQ VI were my first DQ games.
Slime Knight and Angel Slimes are my favorite Slimes. I would like Angel Slime Knight and Angel Slime King/Queen to be added.
Currently replaying DQIX.

Dude... you're getting your monsters mixed up.

And the two seem fairly different from what I saw. Flython had its tail trailing behind it in the trailer, and the screenshot with coatol has it coiling a bit like in its artwork and sprite. In any case, the two are different enough that it would probably be a bad idea for one to be a reskin of the other. Hopefully they'll still have some relation in synthesis. (ie, flythons being involved in making coatol, like how breeding two in the original game could get you coatol)

Coatol looks great. One of my favourites from the original.

Having watched the latest DQX trailer, Queen Slime would be the icing on the cake. Took them long enough to come up with that one.

Yeah, I remarked that just after posting...
For some reasons, I expected Coatol to be taller. It seems smaller than Wingsnake...
The colour should have been an indication, though...

I also always thought that Swordgon had spikes in his back, with his official artwork....

Hmm. Muddy hand and a Giant Muddy Hand. Sounds like a team to name "The Man-Handlers". Lol

Don'tcha mean "The Mud-Handlers"? :B

Maybe they'll localize the big one as 'really muddy hand'.

Yep, as I recall Terry is anywhere from 5 to 10 in this game, just a child really. And in an interview, someone said the Joker hero was aimed to look more appealing to middle school aged teens, so I'd figure he'd be at least 13.

I wonder what ranks some of these monsters are, and if they can become X and XY monsters. If not, then that sucks.

So. Being realistic, when do you think we'll hear about possible localization?

I think we'll know by the end of Nintendo's E3 conference. We learned about Fortune Street and DQMJ2 that way as well.

I'd personally bet on it being announced sometime at E3. Nintendo needs a very strong E3 presentation to ease the fears of stockholders, not to mention the 3DS is picking up enough momentum that there is bound to be a bevy of releases for it. I'd plan on seeing an official announcement for Terry's Wonderland, as well as the new Fire Emblem during Nintendo's presentation at the very least.

My only concern is it's releasing in Japan less than a week from the first day of E3. There may still be issues being worked out for a localization. Who really knows for sure (besides Nintendo obviously)?

I wouldn't be too worried though. It would be surprising if this doesn't get localized at all. There's a strong demand for new 3DS games, and there seems to be a nice amount of buzz about this game considering how popular the original was.

I think we'll be lucky to hear anything about a western release this year, let alone at E3.

I'm hoping we hear something about it this year. E3 would be amazing, but at the same time there's no way we'll see a Monster catcher in the West on the 3DS before a Pokemon game comes out for the system (and is localized).

Wonder if anyone has any contacts with Nintendo that we can just, er, ask. Repeatedly.

... heh, I wonder if just writing a letter to Nintendo Power would work. ;)

I still don't understand your thinking behind this. They're not going to care which game gets here first. DQM is never going to steal Pokemon's thunder.

If that's what you truly believe then you might as well give up on this game right now, because the first Pokemon for 3DS is likely to be gen 6, which is at least two years away. They're not going to put DQM 3D on ice for that long. It's 2013 or never.

Well lets look at the situation. DWM was a success. The 3DS bombed at first. Merging the two would surely make sense and money. And if they speed the process and play their cards right, we will see a release by December 7-15 of this year or by Easter next year if they don't.

DWM has gotten some of the best reviews of the series. It was also my personal second favourite. (Cobi was first.)
