If you have ever had a severe case of contest badge-envy, now is your chance to turn your love of Dragon Quest into a guaranteed badge!

All you have to do to win this contest is purchase Dragon Quest 9: Sentinels of the Starry Skies, and BAM! A badge is yours.

Show proof by posting a picture of your user-name next to your shiny new copy of Dragon Quest 9. If you don't have a digital camera, then you will have to borrow one from a friend or neighbor.

You have until August 31st to submit your picture. That should give you enough time to save up some shekels and go out and buy this masterpiece.

It's that simple!

Yes, but only if it's a picture of your user-name next a copy of Dragon Quest 9 that you purchased...

Can you transfer pictures from a DSi to a PC?
I'll use my new DSi to post my picture if that's the case.

Sure you can! Either put it on an SD card and transfer it to your computer, or upload it to your facebook page, and grab it from there.

I'm currently blogging through the entire Dragon Quest series. Check it out here.
^ Last updated on 7/20/2010 - Spoiler-free journey through Dragon Quest IX

Now playing: Fallout 3 - I am currently completely burnt out on Dragon Quest. I stopped playing Dragon Quest IX at about 120 hours. All the same, however, I'm eagerly awaiting the newly announced release of Dragon Quest VI on Valentine's Day.

Have completed: Dragon Quest I (NES), IV (DS), V (DS), VII (PS1), VIII (PS2), IX (DS)

Next in line: Dragon Quest VI (DS)

I have a boxed copy of every single Dragon Quest game available. I'm super late, but does that count for any other badges?

I've got proof!!!

If it's alright with Woodus, I can see about adding you guys to the winners database for DQIV and / or DQV if you can also show proof that you own those. I might be opening up a can of worms here but it's in the spirit of supporting Dragon Quest so it might be ok. The only problem I have with DQIV and DQV is that it is very possible to get those on the secondary market these days and that doesn't really help Square-Enix.

So, now that I have gone all wishy-washy on it, I will wait for Woodus' comments on that one. I also invite others comments on the merits of awarding badges for DQIV and DQV.

Also, if you had DQ9 given to you (you didn't purchase it yourself), that's still fine in my books. Someone bought it afterall! Or if you won it in the contest that was sanctioned by Nintendo, well, there is nothing wrong with that! Basically, you qualify as long as you are not playing it on an emulator or with a flash card.

Just pre-order my copy from e-Starland. This is my first international purchase, so I'm kind nervous.

It will take around 15 days to deliver the game here in Brazil. So I think I'll only get my badge in the end of the month.

The biggest problem will be indeed have to wait until the end of the month to get my hands on it.

I did purchase DQIV and DQV DS day one from SE, but wasn't an avid poster at Dragon's Den until recently.

I'm not real good with getting a digital picture onto a website. I ordered my DQIX through the link on this site. Can you use that?

I'm going to be taking a picture of my free copy of DQIX with my free DSi. It'll be awesome.

I also invite others comments on the merits of awarding badges for DQIV and DQV.

I don't like this idea - it ruins the point of having a deadline. I got DQIV and DQV both in time to have got the badges for them, but I didn't have a camera to take a picture. That would be an easy 2 more badges for me and I'm still saying that it isn't a proper plan.

I would like to be added for 4 and 5 as well. I preordered 5 and bought 4 new well after it came out (I waited for a used copy but one never showed up so I went ahead and bought it new)

7, 8, and gbc 1+2 are the only ones I've bought used.

However I didn't know about this site until long after those contests had ended.

I imported DQ5 PS2, so I can relate. It's something knowing that you hold an item made for a far away land. I've been so broke I haven't been able to get a flip-top PS2 for a Swap Magic (nor have I been able to buy a Swap magic and I am not using any slide tools for my fat), but when I get my taxes next year, I can not only mod my system, but get a super powered PC to emulate my game after I rip n patch.
