I've had a kinda rough week, so this really made me smile. Thank you, Zenithian!

I try to drop by here a few times a week, but I do mostly lurk. I'm trying to pursue a writing career (I have a story in The Ultimate Cat Lover!) and my autistic little guy takes up a lot of my time, too.

You can say that again -_-. I mean, I don't mind Matt Cassel, but I miss my Brady :(

-Matsam is in a similar situation with school, though in his case, this is his second year. He also recently had a great weekend getaway to NYC. Being a hockey nut that rivals my own level of devotion/obsession, he is really looking forward to the start of the Montreal Canadiens' 100th anniversary season.

Ah, yes. being that mist, metroidxps, all of the SK mods, Cloudsdream, tifa, and many other SKers(myself including)all have profiles, "SKorgy" will soon be a reborn thing!!!!!!! Yeah, and I think tifa's computer was fixed.
Plus, most of the ones you mentioned are still available now and then on IM.

Zenithian, howd you get ahold of torgo?

Hey Striffen_Cloud, it's been awhile, hasn't it? Out of curiosity, I checked this thread out again after awhile, since no one had really replied to what I posted...so imagine my surprise when you and others wrote back! :D Please excuse me for writing back so long after you posted, but I honestly thought the thread was long since buried by now. Anyhow...yeah, it would kick much ass if we could somehow get the ol' gang back together, if only for one evening.

As for Tifa, the last I heard was she needed a replacement part for her computer, and was using her family's machine to get online (occasionally). That's great if she did end up getting it fixed; I wouldn't mind chatting her online sometime to catch up properly.

Concerning Torgo, he goes by DQ5r here on Dragon's Den. He usually only posts here when there are major developments concerning his translation projects, or other DQ-related stuff he does in addition to those. Since he's a busy guy, it's pretty tough to get a hold of him on any given day, so it can be kind of a crapshoot...though if I really made a point of it I could. But since I'm pretty busy myself, it's hard to figure out. I've got him on my AIM contact list, though since he's "always" online, I'm never quite sure when he's actually available to chat. I heard about his SFII machine through mutual friends, so that's how I know about it. But yeah, I really ought to get a hold of him sometime soon...P.I.M.P. convention, yo XD

Hey Besu - wow, it's been far too long since I've last heard from you! I was quite happy to see that you had responded as well :D I'm really glad that my post helped to cheer you up a bit, though please excuse the lateness of my response. Sometimes we reach points in life where daily stuff can really get you down - so believe me when I tell you that I know how much it means when someone can make you smile, despite it all. I remember those conversations you'd have at #SKchat about the trials and travails of raising kids, so it's definitely not lost on me that you're going through a lot. For what it's worth, us former SKers are pulling for you, even if we don't have the chance to say so often.

That's really cool that you're pursuing a writing career; good luck with that! I fondly recall you writing one of the funniest stories back during the first few months of SK's existence (edible slimes come to mind, methinks), so you're onto something.

I had a general idea that you were kinda-sorta around DD, though I didn't get in on any threads where I could chime in on a timely manner. I'll have to keep a closer eye out for you when I'm at DD :)

Yo Mega! Despite my being Captain Obvious on the subject, it still sucks when one of your best (and most favorite) players is out with a knee injury like that. The Pats are hanging in there at 3-1, so if the team can rally around Cassel, they are still going to be a dangerous team in the playoffs. With the parity in the league, you never know what can happen when you make the postseason, and the pressure of not being the favorite could end up being a big plus for them. Any given Sunday, right?

As for any other former SKers or #SKchat users, feel free to chime in - I'd really like to hear from you! :)

No problem, my well-coiffed friend :) I alluded to the idea a bit in my previous post, but I'd be all for a get-together in DD's chat room on the anniversary of SK's closing. If anyone's interested, just post in this thread - we ought to have enough of a heads-up to make it work.

Sounds good to me! I'll be up for it. November 30th looks to be a Sunday this year, so in lieu of school work I expect I can stay in the chat all day for the anniversary

I'm gonna check back here and elsewhere on DD's forum to solicit for other SKers to take me up on my idea. Mimas, since you already have expressed interest, I'll begin a running list of who's in for November 30th, starting with you. Of course, I'll be tossing my hat into the ring as well - anyone else that's interested, feel free to post here and let me know, and we'll work between now and sometime in November to nail down a good time of day for everybody. :wd_coolslime:

When SK was still up, almost every time there was a big party in the chat room, i couldn't be there because i was gone to see my family. Well unfortunately zen, as much as i want to be there, if it's November 30th i can't because i will be in vacation during that time.

Y'know, your situation raises an important point - it could very well be you are not the only one who might have to skip the event. Keeping that in mind that the purpose of a reunion is to actually get people together, it doesn't make much sense to stick to a particular date if too many important people have to cancel. So, what I would like to know is, what is your basic schedule for November? Also for those of you who are interested in attending, but might not be able to make it on the 30th, post here and let us know what days in November would work better for you. As neat as it would be to have everyone together on the 30th, I would much rather have as many participants (SK members and otherwise), than needlessly stick to a certain date out of nostalgia.

We'll get this all sorted out, so just communicate your November plans here, and we'll get it done. Thanks for the heads-up, Mist :)

Ok, I'm getting plenty of responses on this reunion idea, so I'm going to address everybody's concerns/questions here that I didn't already answer through private messages...here goes:

Mist - If we were to schedule the reunion chat for the weekend before you leave on your vacation, would you be able to make it? If so, could I place you on the RSVP list as a for-sure?

Healuslol - When done properly, making out with one's girlfriend can be the best vacation a guy could have :P And back on subject, you're gonna show, right? Wouldn't be the same without ya, buddy!

Cloudsdream - #SKChat technically exists, but no one really goes to the IRC channel anymore. Last I checked (about a month ago), the chatbot was there alone, and that's it. As for the reunion chat, it completely slipped my mind to mention one very important detail...the reunion chat will be taking place here, at Dragon's Den. I'm in the process of speaking with Woodus about some of the details, so that the word can be spread more effectively, and the details/instructions can be placed more prominently on the site. I'd definitely like it if you could make it, at least for awhile. Like I just told Mist, I'm flexible on the date/time so that I can get as many SKers to show up as possible. November 30th would've been neat to pull off, but I won't do that at the expense of missing people. Having said all that, I'd like to have you officially RSVP in this thread if a week earlier will work - once we do, just post here and I'll update the list.

Shadowsnake - Good man, I'll add you right away to the RSVP list! Once I reply to a few more private messages, I'll update the list below, but I'll at least show who I've got as of this post.
