  1. PS1 version has more detailed 3D models, immigrant town, and a more expansive bonus dungeon. Instant win.
  2. It's not just the remakes. Each new game is easier than the last, too. With the exception of DQX Online at launch/DQX Offline as it currently stands. But every time a new expansion comes to Online, older content gets way easier.
  3. Armor Project https://dragon-quest.org/wiki/Armor_Project
  4. It's great to see the forums back! All of the RPG Maker Resources pages seem to be broken.
  5. No, to my knowledge there are no Wii servers or any custom servers of any sort. I have been (slowly) working on a translation for the short offline mode story that is only available on Wii/other out of date disk based copies of the game, and only if they let you access the game without an internet connection. (For example, I could theoretically still run an old PC version installer with my computer offline, but that version won't let you choose offline or online mode until it has connected and run the updater - after the update, the offline mode no longer exists). I believe PS4 was the first version to lack the offline story and it has been retroactively removed from all others since. My translation patch is not yet ready for public use.
  6. The Wii version has been discontinued, and I believe the Wii U version as well. They are not receiving updates and therefore can no longer connect to the game servers.
  7. It might have been that graphics hack of DW1 floating around the internet
  8. This He is available as a party member and CollecaCard in Theatrhythm Dragon Quest
  9. BS Dragon Quest had orchestrated music streamed during the game's broadcast.
  10. I never experienced menu lag. On any version. But I've only played the English version on N3DS while most of my time with the japanese version was on O3DS. By softlocks, I mean the game never exits the battle state, with a monster stuck on screen in a running animation.
  11. I have all(? Or most) of DQ9's NPC sprites. I've asked the person who ripped them for permission to share.
  12. I have a hacked N3DS set to run at full speed with L2 cache enabled. I've never experienced "lag" in the international version, although I have (a few times) run into a similar bug that softlocks the game with a monster onscreen at the end of a battle. I think I have seen the battle lag, as described here, in the Japanese version though, while I was working on translating it (before it was announced for a worldwide release). But I never re-encoded the text or anything, the only changes I made were to plaintext files (.txt, encoded with shift-JIS if I recall correctly). This was on my OG 3DS as I didn't get the n3DS until later.
