  1. What's New with you?

I used to spend 98% of my forum time through Tapatalk. Still waiting on that fix to come through.
  2. What's New with you?

Wow, this new forum layout will take some getting used to.

Did you argue for a single set amount? $15? Not doing the speech for another 2 weeks, but that's the plan. The Minimum wage in PA is still the federal minimum of $7.25, and it's completely unacceptable. I was making more than double that at my old full-time job, and I couldn't even afford a crappy apartment without needing to split with a roommate. Don't make me revoke your Necromancer status for using that word. That's fine. Just refer to me as an Avocadomancer from now on. Holy Crap! $7.25 is not a fair minimum wage. Granted I know nothing of the cost of living in PA...but I couldn't imagine it even remotely comes close to what is needed. I think we are up to like 10 or 11 bucks here in Cali. I haven't made minimum wage in about 6-7 years so I'm not positive. I think the last time I made minimum wage, it was at 8 bucks. Comparing different states, hell different cities, min wage doesn't usually work. Cost of living in California is wayyy higher than Pennsylvania (of course, it depends on what city we're talking about). I live in Alabama, for example and we have a state min wage. It's $7.25. This is low for my city, but it's devastatingly low for Birmingham, which is the biggest city near us. Bham could do for a raise to min wage, and so could my city. But a really high minimum wage could wreck my city whilst causing Bham to flourish.

I've been vacant lately. My health hasn't been great and I've gotten sick a lot lately causing me to be disinterested in some of my hobbies. However I have been spending a lot of time with Mario Odyssey even though I've already beaten it at this point.

Oh god, my memories of speech class in college are particularly painful. I HATED that class. I kinda stopped going halfway through the semester.

I would much rather be using the desktop version, but I just don't have time. When I'm sitting at my home PC I mainly want to be editing video or playing a game. Lurking the Den and posting throughout the day at work is just too easy with Tapatalk.
  7. What's New with you?

I had this epiphany a few months back. I stopped reading a majority of the webcomics I was reading, I stopped going all video games websites except for Gamefaqs and Giantbomb, and stopped following all video game and comic stuff on twitter. I got tired of the constant meta drama that was happening. I just want to enjoy the things and everyone wants to be outraged. I'm so tired of it.I'd argue that video games are twice as toxic but unfortunately it's also twice as important to keep up with news. To keep track of games you're interested in and stuff. I don't even bother with NeoGAF or GameFAQs anyways, I just use here for more general game discussions. All this talk of difficulty in games isn't even a conversation. It's just people waving their dicks around. I don't mind having a conversation with someone, but who wants to get into a big pissing contest with people about how right or wrong an opinion is and who is and isn't a "real" gamer? I feel like people are overly whiny in general these days. Especially on the internet. Whether they're talking about games, comics, movies, or politics, most people like to live their lives from one crisis to the next. Just another reason I like the Den. We tend to be a more positive community here. The Den is like a little slice of 00s internet that was preserved in an encapsulated environment before smartphones infected the globe.

Lack of physical attraction but non-physical attraction exists? Could you elaborate (if you're comfortable with it)?Have you never been attracted to someone based on their personality and non-physical traits?Very rarely. It does happen, but usually that relationship has some problems. I'm not saying it can't work out, it just doesn't come as easily as a relationship with physical attraction.

Yikes! Start drinking large amounts of milk while outside! They gave me a pill I'm supposed to take once a week that has "50,000 unts" of vitamin D3 in it. Man I had no idea just how good Vitamin D is at preventing you from feeling like absolute dog $#!&.
  10. Health and Fitness

Well I couldn't wait for my doctor's appointment so yesterday I went to the urgent Care. They couldn't find anything wrong with my glucose levels, however my Vitamin D level was 72% below the bare minimum it should be and probably around 86% lower than the ideal.

I'm sorry man. I went through this last year...both grandfathers died within a month of each other. It's hard to process your emotions at the moment, except for brief episodes...at least that's how it was for me. I'm so sorry. I know there's nothing that can really be said, but know that some relative stranger in Alabama sends his condolences.
  12. Health and Fitness

I'm pretty sure my problems I mentioned in the New With You thread are related to blood sugar. Everytime after I've eaten this week, my heart has started to race. The other morning it was so bad that I had to lay my head down on my desk at work. That morning I drank an entire Dr. Pepper 12 oz with my breakfast. So, I've cut out all soft drinks and am trying to eat a little better. Started walking around the building on my breaks at work just to acclimate myself to real exercise again. I'm hoping this isn't the onset of diabetes or something. I'm only 28 but I've gained a bit weight in the past year, up to 238. I hoping that by dieting and exercise I can reverse this blood sugar problem. If that's what it really is.
  13. What's New with you?

That's similar to my symptoms though minus the pins and needles. It definitely seems to be worse when I'm thinking about it though. Did you ever have any more attacks after that?
  14. What's New with you?

Can you describe some of your symptoms from when you had it? On the way home today I started panicking and almost had to pull over to collect myself. It's ridiculous because I'm too young to have heart trouble, but I get little aches and pains in my chest and arms and I have gained weight recently. At least it's motivated me to start working out again...
  15. What's New with you?

I can't stop having anxiety attacks about potentially having a heart attack. This is genuinely one of the worst experiences I've ever had. There is nothing more terrifying than feeling like you don't have enough control over your own body to even pump blood properly. It feels like you're struggling to even breathe.
